If you can't start with a laugh, start with a graph

Great advice from a good mate of mine a while back, and it's stuck with me ever since. It's been almost a week since Thrive was announced and between client projects it's been interesting (to me at least) to see the response. We're always telling clients how important it is to put their best foot forward on digital channels so thought it was only fair to share some of our findings since pressing the button

People visit when asked, then leave to get on with much more important things. Yes, we all like to think our websites and social personas are lovely but if we're not giving people any new content they're after, they'll quickly leave. And I thought you were friends...

First week of web traffic to Thrive.tc

Everyone's always on their phone. Even now you're probably reading this on a small screen, looking busy or just avoiding eye contact on the commute. If you are in Turks & Caicos, please keep your eyes on the road and save for another time.

Facebook is good, but nothing beats a personal message from a mate. Yes, social channels are fantastic for sharing, but one-to-one communication is much more effective. The majority of those FB visits even came from a direct invite, so it will be interesting to see how many continue to visit us through social channels once there's a bit of budget behind it. LinkedIn are entirely recruiters quietly hoping for failure so that we'll be back on their books looking for work.

Finally, I'd just like to thank everyone for their support in our new venture. Especially the ones who pointed out all the typos on the beta site, because while done is better than perfect, a fresh pair of eyes and a proofread never go a miss.
